AutoZone Park, the crown jewel ballpark of Minor League Baseball was the setting last evening for the 2003 Triple-A ALL-STAR GAME! A sellout crowd enjoyed a fine exhibition of baseball, while the Memphis Entertainment Group of companies was hard at work preparing for its numerous entertainment responsibilites throughout the week! FanFest, a full day of activities, entertainment, and autographs is a great way to get the fans upclose and into the game. On display were vintage jerseys, gloves, autographed baseballs, pictures of Saturday afternoon heroes come and gone, and of course all of today's up and coming superstars ready to sign their autographs for the thousands of fans who turned out on a beautiful July afternoon.
Non-stop entertainment produced by the Memphis Entertainment Group of companies greeted the fans as they clicked through the turnstyles into the magical experiences that the hosts, the Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone Park, had worked so tirelessly to create. Memphis Music was the theme, highlighted by the soulful sounds of Ms. Joyce Cobb at Isaac Hayes Club, the dirty blues of ELMO & the Shades during FanFest, and a non-stop 2 1/2 hour performance by The Memphis Sound Band on the Main Stage after the game! The Memphis Sound Band had also appeared live on a local television show that morning in support of the national event, which made for a long day for some of the performers and crew. The game and a few supporting events were broadcast both live and pre-recorded on the ESPN cable sports network.
David Cockrell, LD, managed the lighting needs for the event, from the ancilliary lighting of venue highlights to the actual main stage performance of the headline band. Shawn Bennett, Entertainment Director for the Memphis Redbirds, on the production and performance at the Triple-A ALL STAR Game: "I knew you guys were good, but that was incredible...really cool. Everyone is pleased, totally happy. They are still talking about this event! They're saying it's the best one they can remember. You made us look good!" A big "Thank You" to the Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone Park for being a great place to work!

The Internet name has been acquired and is now being developed, according to management, with cutting edge technology that will enable greater client support worldwide!
"Through key talent, technology acquisitions, and affiliations, we are forging ahead with our long-range plan to build a complete vertically-integrated production services company to complement our production and digital download products," states Roy Degan, CEO and brainchild behind the Memphis Entertainment Group, the parent organization.

top quality designs, product offerings, and unique opportunities in the marketplace! With MemphisLighting.com in very capable hands, our focus will be on venue construction and digital support services!"
The development and construction of the new multi-use production facility is currently being reviewed by some key regional players who have expressed substantial interest in the Memphis Entertainment Group's business model.
"We already have our site, the building steel, and the heavy equipment in place to begin laying the foundation immediately, but the size and scope of the inital proposal to us warranted that we pause for a thorough evaluation," says Degan. "At face value their proposal appears to be a perfect fit for all of us. This is not something that's going to take a long time. We'll know shortly if we can work out the details, then we'll begin construction at the best location."

Sister Hazel Gets Lit Up With THE BUZZ 94.1 FM!
|
The One Year Anniversary Party Celebrating the success of THE BUZZ 94.1 FM was a BIG HIT! With a packed house at the New Daisy Theater on Beale Street, Sister Hazel put on a strong show, playing all of their hits and otherwise favorite selections! Louise Goffen, daughter of Carole King and most famous for her GAP commercial with mom, opened the show with her multi-talented sidekick performing acoustic versions of her most recent releases. They sound more like four musicians rather than just the two of them, and the crowd was thoroughly pleased. Not to be outdone, local rocker Ingram Hill followed strong with their own style of alternative rock, and they got the house jumping and the energy level up!
Then finally Sister Hazel took the stage to a great sound and light show! House sound was excellent and the lighting show, complete with fog machines, hazers, and multi-colored moving lights, added the extra dimension to the show, turning it into a full-fledged concert event to remember! The band was excellent, performing their hits to the quality of what you would hear on the radio! No one left disappointed! Our compliments to both the sound and lighting crews!
Leave it to THE BUZZ to produce a great show and market it thoroughly! Congratulations on a great year and best wishes for continued success! |
