St. Louis Cardinals Caravan Headed to Memphis

Memphis Tigers to pump up crowd prior to 'Birds

January 10, 2006

Memphis, Tenn. - The St. Louis Cardinals Caravan will make its annual stop at AutoZone Park on Saturday, January 14, 2006 with an added bonus.

Prior to the St. Louis Cardinals appearance the University of Memphis' band along with Pouncer will pump up the crowd. The University of Memphis plays host to the SMU Mustangs Saturday night. The "Mad Hungarian" Al Hrabosky will be the emcee for the event along with current players and former Redbirds Yadier Molina and Randy Flores with newly acquired Aaron Miles. The event will run from 5-7 p.m. on the Club Level at AutoZone Park. St. Louis Cardinals players will answer questions and sign autographs during the event.

Bo Hart, Carmen Cali and Mike Lincoln were joined by Ken Reitz at last year's event. Hart and Cali spent 2005 with the Redbirds, while Lincoln was rehabbing from elbow surgery all season. Reitz was an All-Star third baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1980 and won a Gold Glove in 1975.

Memphis Sound Entertainment is the Official Entertainment Service Provider to the Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone Park. We'll be there to assist with staging, skirting, wireless microphones, and sound engineers to make certain that the Redbirds presentation is as first class as their organization!

Go Redbirds!

Hrabosky, Cardinals intrigue crowd

January 17, 2006

Memphis, Tenn. - The Cardinals Caravan rolled into Memphis on Saturday evening and strolled into a room full of fans. The event capped off the Cellular South Celebration, which included a pep rally for the University of Memphis and free food for all fans present. Former Cardinals reliever and current Cardinals broadcaster Al Hrabosky answered questions from fans and talked about the Cardinals off-season moves and the upcoming season. Three current Cardinals followed "The Mad Hungarian" with a question and answer session of their own. Catcher Yadier Molina, reliever Randy Flores and second baseman Aaron Miles fielded questions from the crowd before joining Hrabosky to sign autographs for seemingly the entire crowd of 350-400 people. Prior to the Cardinals taking the stage, the University of Memphis band along with Pouncer performed in the Plaza of AutoZone Park. The band and Tiger mascot pumped up fans before the Tigers 73-53 victory over SMU on Saturday night.
